In this article you will learn how the definition of reference sites will help your forecasts.

The definition of reference sites can only be done by an administrator. Upon request your dedicated Support Agent can help you.

All we need from you is the definition of reference for every site and the similarity factor for each of them.

When will the reference site be used in a forecast?

The similar location will be used in case a similar movie you selected for your forecast did not play on the “original” location, but played on the similar one.

This can happen when your “original” location was opened later than the lifetime of the similar movie, or when it did not play there.

Why is the similarity factor important?

As you know, two location cannot always be 100% similar. In this purpose you have to define the similarity factor with values between 0 and 5; 1 being the value used when they are 100% similar; 0.9 for 90% similarity, and so on.

In conclusion, defining similarity locations is an important step in configuring Forecasting module for you to use at its full capabilities. Think of the similar location as a “back-up” one. Therefore we advise you to define a similar location and factor for all of your locations.
