How is a Schedule Generated?

The algorithm treats new releases and holdovers differently.

The algorithm will schedule new releases the way the film has been defined by its distributor agreement or any policy overrides, otherwise new releases will not be scheduled.

The algorithm will schedule holdovers the way the film has been defined by its distributor agreement or any policy overrides, otherwise the film will be scheduled based on forecasted numbers.

How to Generate a Schedule

To generate a schedule, navigate to the Schedule View page.

Schedules are generated per day. Pick a day of the week you'd like to generate a schedule for by selecting a day tile in the lower right-hand corner of the page.

Next, select Generate Schedule. The algorithm will take a few seconds to run.

Note: A pop-up may appear which identifies films that do not have distributor contracts attached or showtimes that the algorithm dropped because of constraint conflicts. Selecting Fix will take the user to Scheduling Constraints. Selecting Okay will allow a user to continue with generating the proposal.

Once the algorithm runs, films are populated on the grid.

Films displayed on the grid are now listed under "playing" in the short film list on the right-hand side.
