This article will explain how to book an upcoming film release in Cinema Intelligence.

1. Coming Soon View

Clicking on the name of the month will show the film releases for that month. Films can be viewed in a grid or list format.

  1. Display films in grid format. Note that films are ordered by release date.

  2. Hover over the poster to see movie details, including forecast values.

1.1. List View

  1. Films can also be displayed in a list view. By default, films are ordered by their release date but can be re-sorted by clicking on the relevant Column Heading.

2. Movie Details

To view detailed information about a specific film, click on the relevant Film Title in the Coming Soon page; this will open the Movie Booking Section.

Ensure that the release date and available formats are correct. Film details like Genre or Distributor need to be correct for the system to operate properly.

3. Add a New Booking

  1. When booking a new release, the first step is to select a format from the list of available formats. If the film will be shown in multiple formats, each format will be booked separately.

  2. Select the theatre, a list of theatres, or a group to execute the booking. Contact the Cinema Intelligence support team to have additional groups defined.

4. Booking Strategy per Digital Print Copy

The information presented in the Forecasting and Events and Holidays sections, along with the similar film graphs, are displayed here to help plan the time slot strategy for the selected theatres.

5. Booking Continued

Note that booking is made on a digital print level. In this context, an extra copy (of the digital print) is needed when there is more than one show in one particular time slot.

  1. First, select the minimum seating capacity.

  2. Next, select the time slots for that seating capacity. The exact time of the show can be entered.

  3. Add constraints to book the remaining time slots with a different seating capacity.

  4. If there is more than one show on any given time slot, Add a copy and repeat steps 1 - 3.

6. Booking Settings for All Copies

Intermission

If the theatre uses intermissions, they can be added in this section by checking the Add intermission check box and entering the intermission duration and timing. The system can also automatically suggest intermission for movies above a certain length.

If intermissions are not used, this section can be left blank.

Booking confirmation

For a booking to be effective it needs to be confirmed by both the exhibitor and the distributor. Click the Distributor and Exhibitor check boxes under the Booking Confirmed section to mark the film as confirmed.

Tentative bookings are scheduled in the overview but do not get played until they are confirmed. They will also show up with a different color coding in the reporting functionality.

Comments will be displayed in the Cinema Week Overview reporting page.

After reviewing the booking, click Save.

7. Booking Overview

Once saved, a booking will show up in the Booking Overview page.

This page displays all theatres booked to play this current release. Complete overview of format, scheduling policy and comments are displayed for easy review.

Selecting one or many theatres allows easy modifications to a booking details.
